My Power
Darkness is falling and I'm on my way to the photoshoot. Right now I feel very little like a power woman! What exactly is a power woman? I'm reflecting on that a bit... My own idea of a power woman is someone who can do it all in a slightly discolored superhero costume. Because if you're going to do it all, the suit will have to lose color over time. Life is a constant process of choosing what to embrace and what to let go.
I park the car. A picture pops up on my phone of my husband and daughter, who just wanted to tell me that they are proud of me. I feel warm and grateful inside. I remind myself that the only thing they want is for me to remember to love and take care of myself. That's how I take care of them. I decide that my own beliefs shape my experience and think, FUCK it! Now I go in and give it EVERYTHING. It's completely outside my comfort zone... Despite that, it's going to be a really good experience, which I'm grateful to have been allowed to experience.
