My Power
To me, being a 'Power woman' means being true to yourself and honest about your own wishes, with respect for others as well as yourself. It means taking yourself seriously and not being afraid to pursue what you want.
My "Power" also stems in many ways from honesty. Partly from a practical point of view, from a realization that I am actually notoriously bad at lying. Partly from an awareness that the easy choice is often to set other people's demands and expectations as your own benchmark, and that it is therefore extra important to also (dare to) listen to yourself.
Growing up, I have built a great belief in myself that you can do what you set your mind to - whether it's running marathons, getting that good, exciting job, or maintaining important relationships. I have also found that the outside world finds great security in your own clarity and honesty - and this can greatly help to open up new opportunities.
Titles, ranks, etc. have no significant meaning to me - And if anything, my mother's long battle with cancer, which she sadly lost in 2023, has taught me that it's important to fight for what's important to you, and overall, make the most of it together, in the time we have.
