Their personal story was not ready in time for the exhibition opening. So Molly Marina and PPP offer this little story to accompany them on their way. An artistic greeting from us.
The common thread
In a drawer lay a scrap of red thread. Too short for the big job, some thought, and too obvious for the invisible repair.
One day the thread was used to join two pieces of fabric that had otherwise been set aside. The stitches could be seen. They did not make the fabric new, but they gave it a new coherence.
Maybe it's not always our job to hide the joins. Perhaps a piece can show that it was made through attention, hands, and time.
Power can be discovering an opportunity in what still remains. To connect, without making the differences invisible. To let a common thread become part of the work.
To Hanne, with a story about connections that should be seen.
A literary greeting from Molly Marina and PPP. Written for the person portrayed, this is an imaginative story, not an account of their life.
